A bit about Yoga…
The word “yoga” means union. The practice of yoga awakens the universality of who you are. For instance, modern science supports the idea that the whole existence is just one energy expressing itself in various forms.
Hence, if you realize the interconnectedness of everything, does someone need to teach you how to be in this world? Teach you morals, or not to harm this person, or kill and rob that person?
When you are in union, or in yoga, everything is experienced as a part of yourself, and that is ultimate freedom, or mukti.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hatha yoga? Tell me the story!
Yogic philosophy recognizes the archetypal masculine and feminine, as Shiva and Shakti, respectively. Everything, including you and I, embody both Shiva and Shakti. Shiva is known as pure witness consciousness, the seer, the still point, the spirit. While Shakti is pure power, pure embodiment, the moon, matter. And they both need each other to be.
‘Without the still point, there would be no dance’ T.S. Eliot
How does this relate to hatha yoga? Through the practice of postures and breathing exercises, the whole theatre of the universe is acted out in the body. The condensed power of Shakti, lying coiled at the base of the spine (kundalini) longs to rise up the spine to meet its companion, Shiva, who lies in the energy center at the crown of the head.
The union of Shiva and Shakti is the goal of Hatha yoga. The result is a sacred dance of energy and consciousness, known as Lila.

You can choose to keep your video on or off during the class. It is important to have a stable internet connection for this.
